Denny’s Hungry for Education™ Scholarship

Description

In an effort to help fight childhood hunger and promote education, Denny’s launched the Hungry for Education™ scholarship program in 2011, and has since awarded more than $2.7 million in combined scholarships to elementary, high school and college students across the country. Annually in September, Denny's identifies strategic partners to award scholarships to students that submit essays on how Denny's can help bring communities together, and one student is selected by Denny’s to have their idea be put into action in their community.

Students will need to provide a 300-word essay (high school) or a 500-word essay (college) answering the question: “How Denny’s can bring communities together?”

Applicant Requirements:

  1. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or Puerto Rico.  
  2. All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Puerto Rico
  3. If applicant is under the age of 18 and is selected as a potential Denny’s HFE scholarship recipient, to be confirmed as a winner, the student’s parent or legal guardian must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Assignment of Rights.
  4. Scholarship funds awarded to winners must be used for education, such as tuition and related fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at an accredited post-secondary education institution.
  5. Student must possess a minimum 2.5 GPA (and meet additional requirements by Partner organization).
